The CAT5-AD1 adaptor set is designed to power up and transmit audio signals from any ETS SM1 series microphone over CAT5/6 cable. It is compatible with all ETS interface boxes and base stations, making it a versatile solution for audio transmission.
This adaptor converts SM1 series microphone signals to balanced audio at 10k ohms impedance, allowing for the use of long distance CAT5 unshielded cable runs. This means that you can extend the reach of your audio signals without sacrificing quality.
Easy Connections
Connecting the CAT5-AD1 is simple. Just match the corresponding connections: “-” to “-“, “+” to “+”, and audio to audio. This allows for seamless integration with your sound surveillance product of choice.
If the distance between the CAT5-AD1 and the microphone, interface box, or other equipment is more than 10 feet, we recommend using 2 conductor shielded cables for these connections. For shorter distances, single conductors or an unshielded 3 or 4 conductor cable can be used.
Maximum Cable Length
It is important to note that the CAT5 cable run should not exceed 1000 feet to ensure optimal performance. This maximum length ensures that the audio signal remains clear and free from interference.
