SM1-PAP
Microphone Pre-amplifier with Universal Power Input, Adjustable Hi/Lo Cut Filters and AGC
Description
SM1-PAP Microphone Pre-Amplifier
The SM1-PAP is a high-performance microphone pre-amplifier that is designed to enhance the audio quality of our ML1 series microphones. With its versatile features and universal power input, this pre-amplifier is a perfect addition to any audio setup.
Universal Power Input and Adjustable Filters
One of the key features of the SM1-PAP is its compatibility with a wide range of power inputs. It can be powered by either a 12-60V DC or a 9-42V AC power source, making it adaptable to different power systems. This flexibility ensures that the pre-amplifier can be used in various environments without any compatibility issues.
Additionally, the SM1-PAP is equipped with adjustable high and low cut filters. These filters allow users to customize the audio output by eliminating unwanted frequencies, resulting in a cleaner and more professional sound.
Adjustable Automatic Gain Control
The SM1-PAP also features an adjustable automatic gain control (AGC) function. This allows users to optimize the audio levels and maintain consistent sound quality, even in challenging recording conditions. The AGC function ensures that the audio output remains clear and balanced, regardless of the input signal strength.
The output of the SM1-PAP is designed to be easily connected to ETS base stations, interfaces, and other equipment. It is specifically designed for use with ETS ML1 series microphones, although it is also compatible with other PC-compatible microphones.
When using the SM1-PAP, it is important to plug the ML1 microphone into the “mic in” jack of the pre-amplifier. It is recommended to avoid mounting the microphone near air conditioning vents, light fixtures, or electrical equipment to prevent any interference or unwanted noise.
The ML1 microphone should be positioned as close as possible to the subject of interest for optimal sound capture. While the microphone can be used at distances of up to 25 feet, the effectiveness may vary depending on the level of background noise in the area. Experimentation in the environment will help determine the best distance for optimal performance.
Lastly, the SM1-PAP offers a switch-selectable volume range, allowing users to choose between “line level” (0dB) or “microphone level” (-30dB). This feature provides additional flexibility in adapting to different audio setups and requirements.
